TINA WATERS

Trainer, Coach, and Clinician, and Founder of Ashwood Meadow Sport Horses

Tina Waters brings more than 25 years of professional experience in Dressage, Eventing, and young horse development to her work as a trainer and clinician. As the founder of Ashwood Meadow Sport Horses, Tina specializes in breeding, sourcing, starting, and producing quality young horses, as well as teaching riders who want to deepen their understanding of horsemanship and classical training principles.

Tina’s foundation was built on her family’s breeding and training farm in Western New York. She later gained formative experience at Chestnut Ridge Stables—home to the renowned Trakehner stallion Abdullah riding quality young horses—and at Bascule Farm in Maryland, where she furthered her experience competing client horses and mentoring riders.

Her career expanded significantly on the West Coast after earning a competitive position with 4* Eventer and Grand Prix Dressage rider Melissa Beardsley. For the next 16 years, Tina worked alongside top professionals and furthered her education with respected clinicians including Bea and Derek DiGrazia, Conrad Schumacher, Janet Foy, Leslie Law, Eric Smiley, Greg Best, and John Camlin.

In 2007, Tina co-founded Emerald Glen Stables in Woodinville, WA, developing a successful training program and leading a competition team active across the entire West Coast. Tina herself competed through FEI 3* Eventing and was long-listed for the 2011 Pan American Games.

Today, Tina offers clinics, coaching, and training for riders seeking a thoughtful, biomechanics-based approach rooted in classical principles. Her teaching is known for its creativity, clarity, and ability to strengthen the communication between horse and rider. Whether working with developing riders or experienced competitors, Tina’s goal is always the same: to help each partnership progress with confidence, correctness, and harmony.
